Armani Dresses Shine at Princess Charlene’s Royal Wedding In Monaco

Georgio Armani is no stranger to priceless style and royalty.  When the 77-year old Italian designer was commissioned to create looks for the wedding of Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene Wittstock and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Armani set his vision — and over 100 hours of labor — to create a glistening, off-shoulder gown of satin duchesse.  The amazing dress worn by the slender blonde princess was carefully designed to be  free of  “any obvious nostalgia” in regards the all-lace frock worn by Prince Albert’s late mother, the famed Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco.

Princess Charlene’s one-of-a-kind Armani Prive creation included golden floral designs embroidered by hand, mother-of-pearl teardrops and bedazzled with over 40,000 Swarovski crystal details. The gown was complete with 2 trains and a 20-foot veil of silk tulle, topped by an 88-carat “Diamond Spray” tiara designed by Lorenzo Baumer.  That is, folks, a wedding ensemble truly fit for a princess.

The new Princess of Monaco wasn’t the only vision in Armani Prive thoughout the weekend. Giorgio’s niece Roberta Armani wore a light pink satin for the wedding ceremony, while Princess Mathilde of Belgium chose a pretty cocktail dress that consisted of wisteria silk.  Charlene’s father Michael Wittstock and brothers Sean and Gareth were dressed in made to measure suits by Armani.

Stylish Moms We Love

Mothers come in all sizes, shapes and are valuable every place in the world — including the world’s major fashion cities.  Some of the industry’s biggest entrepeneurs are women who have followed their heads as well as their hearts to becoming the most noted figures in fashion as well as devoted moms.  Its a true inspiration for us all!

“Everything I do is a matter of heart, body and soul.” Donna Karan used the inspiration brought to life by her family, including daughter Gaby (pictured below) and Donna’s grandchildren to develop the now ubiquitous labels DKNY and DKNY kids.  The designer and philanthropist achieved her immense success based on an ability to take the function of daily rituals (including her life as a mom) and use it to create big things.

Royal Wedding Fashion! Snag Kate Middleton’s Eclectic Style

Whether you’re already obsessed with soon-to-be-princess Kate Middleton’s naturally beautiful looks and fashion sense, or you haven’t yet noticed, it will soon be very hard to ignore.  The 29-year old Kate has since been deemed as a fashion icon for her healthy, svelte figure and down-to-earth (read: normal) approach to style.

By now it is clear that any outfit or handbag worn by Kate Middleton will be the next major sellout at Saks or the buzzworthy boutiques.  In just six months, fashionista Kate is responsible for causing a major rush at stores.   While many in her position would choose priceless couture, the sensible Kate has opted to wear labels a large population of Women can afford.  No doubt she’ll be a fashionable mom in the future!

Her sapphire-colored dress by Issa caused a rush at boutique Harvey Nichols

The most talked-about style anywhere, for the moment, is the sapphire-hued Issa dress the future princess wore to stand by her Prince William’s side while announcing their engagement in October 2010.  New York Magazine’s The Cut recently described the major rush at Harvey Nichols (where the blue dress was originally sold) as a swarm of shoppers who have “gone Issa mad.”   Her most recent trend will result in bringing Diesel jeans back to the trends list — Kate has been spotted several times in the brand’s bootcut style jeans.  Lest we forget Tod’s D-Bag (pictured above), a tote used by Kate and named for Princess Diana.

Kate’s use of glamorous suits and standout colored gowns is regularly compared to Diana, whose youthful beauty never failed to shine.   Past photos show Kate dolled up in typically young, sexy looks, including a totally sheer lingerie dress she wore for a charity fashion show at the university where both she and William attended (the under-$50 outfit, which is said to be the look that caught the prince’s eye, sold for $125,781 at an auction last month).  While lingerie-bearing days may be over, the Royal Wedding — including bridal gown by a mystery designer — is sure to be the fashion event of this year.

Is Mother-Child J. Crew Ad Promoting Trandsgender?

Jenna Lyons, the  creative mastermind behind the now-stylish J.  Crew label we all know and love, has done much more than the average company President and Creative Director.  Lyons is credited with heading the brand’s transformation from dull-colored mail order fashion to some of the hippest, couture-looking fashion ever found in a chain store.  Jenna’s workday (and extremely colorful closet) was profiled by Oprah in April 2010.  Her work is also patronized by J. Crew fans Michelle Obama and her girls.  Last week, J. Crew sent emails to customers circulating the latest ad for the comany’s Crewcuts childrenswear.  It features a grinning Jenna with her son Beckett, age 5.   The adorable blonde boy is wearing a striped shirt and sporting a shocking pink pedicure evidently painted by Mom.

Transgender.. or just cute?

Lyon’s focus in the ad clearly stays with the nail polish, reading “Lucking for me, I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink.  Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.”   The ad has undergone scrutiny from both media and child psychologists, calling it “blatant propaganda” that can add to gender confusion for children, especially, boys, in the future.  Ms. Lyons has defended her mom and son ad to Fox News, stating that her critics are simply “overreacting.”.  “Most parents”, Lyons explains, “in the privacy of their home might think, ‘What’s the big deal?’ “.

Zoe apparently went into labor the day before (rumors were unconfirmed by her public relations) and gave birth to the undoubtedly beautiful Skyler Morrison Berman, whose middle name might honor Doors lead singer Jim Morrison.  The new parents announced in a statement that “Mom and Dad ‘LITERALLY’ could not be happier or more in love with their son!”  Best wishes!

While baby Skyler is indeed expected to be displayed as one of the most fashionable little boys ever made, The Zoe Report’s Bright Ideas bring into the light some highly necessary pieces to add to our own budding wardrobes for Spring.  Even denim jeans ‘spring’ to life with wonderous bursts of head-turning color:
